Almost thirty years ago, Pat and Dorothy Patterson made a list of dreams that they wanted to achieve in their lifetime. They had a young family and fledgling careers, but they had big plans for their future.
Dorothy decided to try network marketing as a way to reach some of those dreams. Although some companies had left her disappointed with the multilevel marketing industry, her determination to find the right company never waned over 24 years of searching. In the meantime, Dorothy's husband Pat had accepted an early retirement offer from his career in the high-tech industry. But dreams of a prosperous retirement faded quickly as a new business venture failed, leaving their finances in shambles and their spirits broken.
A Glimmer of Hope
"Our life, which had at one time been very hopeful," said Pat, "had become painful." One day in October 1996, an old acquaintance, Steve Steggell, called and asked Dorothy what she knew about TAHITIAN NONI® Juice. "I wasn't prepared to try anything new, but I welcomed a visit from Steve that day. He had earned my trust and had a history of good ideas," said Dorothy. She agreed to evaluate the juice, at least until the bottle was empty. Steve had a position in his business for her and encouraged her to take it, just in case the TAHITIAN NONI® Juice worked.
Within three days, Dorothy noticed improvement in her health. Within a few weeks, Pat also experienced the benefits of TAHITIAN NONI® Juice. They were both sleeping better and had a greater sense of well being. This was the first blessing of many.
The Value of Residual Income
Initially, the Pattersons' goal as TNI distributors was to earn enough commission to pay for their own TAHITIAN NONI® Juice. Things quickly changed because there was such an enthusiastic response from friends and acquaintances, Pat and Dorothy began dreaming again, and their first dream was to pay off their debts. As their TNI business grew, it became obvious to Pat that they could move forward together and achieve spectacular success.
Shortly after their TNI business took off, the Pattersons received shocking news. Pat was diagnosed with an abdominal aortic aneurysm. In preparation for the surgery and subsequent recovery, their TNI business had to take a back seat to this serious health challenge. They soon learned first hand the value of residual income. "We were totally surprised and delighted to discover that our TNI income actually increased during the time we were focused on Pat's health instead of the business," Dorothy said. The Pattersons were up and running again.
A Dream Come True
Not long ago, Dorothy came across her list of dreams, compiled almost 30 years ago. She was amazed to discover that all the dreams on the list had been accomplished or acquired. Except for one, a grand piano.
Dorothy had wanted a grand piano of her own since childhood. Initially, her family could not afford to give her piano lessons, so she began by practicing on a cardboard keyboard. Dorothy developed a talent and she never gave up her dream. "Dreams are as important as the air we breathe," Dorothy iterated. "They are the fuel that keeps us going."
The TNI business was making many things possible for Pat and Dorothy, their children, and their associates. As the commission checks continued to grow ever larger, it became evident that the dream of the grand piano was an unmistakable possibility. So Dorothy and Pat began their search. "I began to play grand pianos no longer as a dreamer but as a shopper," said Dorothy.
The selection process was narrowed to a 7-foot, 4-inch Bosendorfer Grand Piano. It was handmade in Austria, one of 300 made in a year. The Bosendorfer, regarded as the Rolls Royce of grand pianos, has now taken a permanent spot in the Pattersons' home. "Being the owner of this magnificent instrument is a thrill for me," exclaimed Dorothy. "My family feels as though we have adopted another family member!"
Dust Off Your Dreams
"We are blessed to be a part of the TNI family," said Pat. "The lifestyle that has provided is wonderful." They love to spend time with family and friends, play golf, and travel. Pat and Dorothy list flexibility, residual income, and the opportunity to help others among the best aspects of the TNI opportunity.
"Teaching others to duplicate their own efforts is the total focus of building a successful TNI business," added Dorothy. "We have a proven system of daily activity. We meet new people and share the vision. Teaching people to teach people is what we do each day." That's successful network marketing in a nutshell according to Dorothy, be a leader and help others become leaders.
The Pattersons continue to help others dust off old forgotten dreams and work together to achieve success. "It is good to do good. With TNI and TAHITIAN NONI® Juice, there is plenty of opportunity to do so much good for many people," Pat said.
"Dust off your dreams and work to give them life," Dorothy exhorts. "Believe in them. Don't hold back, because what you believe will certainly happen."
