We are pleased to inform you that the ICCC Executive Board and Awards Committee have selected Tahitian Noni International to receive the ICCC "Corporation with Social Responsibility" award for its visionary approach to improving the quality of life in communities around the world. The Committee recognizes Tahitian Noni International for its outstanding efforts in improving local populations by bridging the development and export of a product that has been part of the culture of French Polynesia for thousands of years into a practical means for economic, health, and social impact worldwide.
We commend Tahitian Noni especially for its unique cross-culture Outrigger program which has provided over 6,000 people from around the world an opportunity to experience a greater understanding of French Polynesian culture, as well as, providing new tourism revenue; for establishing a local student scholarship program enabling study in the United States; and most importantly, the guidelines for development of successful plantations whose economic returns have improved family income and reduced unemployment. These and other initiatives have enabled creation of modern schools, medical facilities, and growth of the local economy; indirectly benefiting the enhancement of historical heritage and promotion of artistic creativity, these are but a few, of your corporation's contributions to the betterment of humankind which we honor.
We would also like to recognize your five founders for their outstanding stewardship, visionary approach and innovative initiatives that have lead to meaningful change worldwide. This Award was established to encourage, recognize and enhance awareness of outstanding and sustainable achievements in improving the quality of life in global urban and rural settlements.
These practical and creative endeavors provide both joy and a more "caring" approach to a Society for All Ages. We praise Tahitian Noni International for demonstrating through combining public and private leadership a means to foster "new mindsets" for addressing the complex challenges of the 21st century. World leaders, NGO's and the private sector are reformulating community economics and social development stimulated by Tahitian Noni's leadership.
ICCC declared at its inception that private enterprise's efforts to help society improve its communities and social public activities should be recognized as an essential goal. To further these goals ICCC presents this Award to cite particular private corporations or enterprises for their unique contributions to society beyond its normal business activities. This Award was established in 1996 and past recipients have been: ASTA/Medica, Inc., Germany; Chelsea Piers Management, USA, and Sekisui House, Ltd., Japan, Ferrovial Group, Spain. Dr. Neil Solomon, Chair, ICCC's Health, Education and Research Council, joins me in hoping your Corporation will honor us by accepting this award and that your schedule permits you to join us on February 11th.
